ENCOUNTER KAÇKAR SKI TOURING – 7 Day / 6 Night tour – Already thinking of your next ski adventure? Experience the thrill and excitement as you encounter the back-country skiing of the Kaçkar Mountaıns. Together with a guide, you will ski beautiful slopes that are off the beaten track. Waking up to sunlit mornings, ready to explore sparkling white, unmarked trails will be one of the many highlights you experience here in eastern Turkey. Enjoy delicous traditonal foods during your stay in a quaint local town known for it’s beautiful views and amazing natural surroundings.

We will greet you at the Erzurum airport and drive you to a small ski lodge near the town of Yusufeli, in the village of Yaylalar at 1900m. In the evening, you will be briefed on what to expect during the ascent and descent. For more inexperienced backcountry skiers, an introduction to backcountry ski touring techniques can be given. We will stay in this same lodge for the remainder of our tour, doing several different day trips from this location.

Today we will tour and ski in Korahmet with a wonderful view over the Valley (6 hours ski).

After a traditional breakfast, we will start our ski tour directly from the pension and arrive in Vilizo Valley about 5 hours later.

Today we travel to the village of Olgunlar and climb the majestic Covan Mountain at 3000m. (5-6 hours)

Today we will make the exhilarating climb to Lanetleme Pass at 3200m, starting directly from the lodge. (6-7 hours)

After a traditional breakfast, we will travel to Güngörmez Valley to climb Modut Mountain at 3000m. Afterward, we will return to the lodge for a delicious diner and a celebration of the completion of our ski touring. (5-6 hours)

This final day, we will head back to Erzurum through the Valley of the Georgian churches. Upon our arrival in Erzurum, we will have time for a fun cultural tour of the city (depending on flight departure times) before transport to the airport to begin your journey home.
